Norfolk Marine's New WFSV "NORFOLK TERN" Does a Turn at Oceanology 2014

L-3 Klein Associates Inc. of Salem, New Hampshire, USA chartered Norfolk Marine’s new WFSV the “NORFOLK TERN” as a floating show room for their new shallow water bathymetry sonar system, the HydroChart 3500. The vessel was mobilised from Norfolk Marine’s new Operations Centre in Lowestoft and spent the three days of the show giving on water demonstrations in the Royal Victoria Dock alongside the ExCel Exhibition Centre.

Following the very simple and rapid installation of the Klein equipment aboard the vessel, the demonstrations were hosted by Straud Armstrong, L-3’s Technical Sales Manager. Following the event Mr. Armstrong said:

“Thank you for hosting us on your vessel. It was perfect! And, please extend many thanks to the crew for the fine breakfast sandwiches and for keeping the hot java flowing! The skippers work at the helm was also much appreciated, didn't notice a single bump or encounter, which is always a good thing. It really could not have gone better”.

When the show closed, the HydroChart sonar equipment was quickly de-installed from the vessel and she returned to Norfolk Marine’s Lowestoft Base.  Deborah Durgin, Supervisor Marketing & Sales for L-3 Klein Associates Inc. commented:

“I understand from my colleagues on-board the Tern that the charter was perfect and the demonstrations went extremely well.  Many thanks for all of your pre-show and on-site assistance with the charter of the Tern. Thanks for making our on-water demonstrations such a success!

We would like to thank L-3 Klein Associates, Inc. for chartering the “Norfolk Tern” and look forward to working with them in the future.
